Solar Photovoltaic Park UEA500

🌿 UEA500: Clean Energy for the Future of the Amazon ☀️

UEA500 is a milestone in Ecuador’s energy transition: the first solar park in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Located at the Amazon State University (UEA) in Puyo, this solar park has an installed capacity of 500 kWp and generates approximately 593 MWh per year, preventing the emission of 287 tons of CO₂-eq annually.

🔋 Sustainable Energy Empowering Education
Since its commercial operation began in January 2025, UEA500 supplies 100% of the university’s annual electricity demand, benefiting nearly 5000 students and positioning the institution as a regional sustainability leader.

🌎 A Global Effort for Sustainability
This project was made possible through funding from the federal and Walloon governments of Belgium, via FINEXPO and AWEX, and was executed by Belga Solar and ENERGIQA.
